Organising the Oversized Cargo Transport

CAT excavators are oversized, heavy cargo that doesn't fit a standard container scheme. We selected the right transport equipment, calculated securing and weight distribution, and planned the loading and unloading logic at the port.

We ran the sea leg through the Port of Constanța in Romania, a convenient entry point for heavy machinery with onward delivery to Ukraine. At the port, the TGL team coordinated transshipment, temporary storage and oversized-cargo handling.

Customs clearance for heavy machinery has its specifics, so we prepared documentation for each unit in advance and accompanied clearance to keep the machines from idling. Final delivery to the Kyiv region was arranged by road transport suited to oversized loads.

The client received the excavators on site in working order and right before the construction season, with route risks minimized all the way to Ukraine.

The Black Sea port of Constanța is one of the most convenient routes for importing oversized machinery and equipment into Ukraine, especially when transshipment flexibility and an inland leg to the central regions matter. For heavy machinery, this direction is often better than a direct sea leg to Ukrainian ports.
