Share your shipment details and we will come back with an LCL solution tailored to your route and cargo
Typical response time: under 2 hours
Instead of booking a full container, you pay only for the space your cargo actually occupies — a significant cost saving for smaller loads
Consistent consolidation schedules on key routes — no need to wait until you can fill an entire container
Your cargo is correctly packed, marked, and consolidated with other shipments while maintaining full cargo integrity
From document preparation to customs clearance — we manage the full process from origin to final destination
If your cargo does not fill a full container, LCL (Less than Container Load) lets you ship by sea while paying only for the space you actually use. It is a practical solution for businesses whose regular shipments fall short of a full container load.
At TGL Ukraine, we organise LCL shipments on key trade lanes between Ukraine and ports across Europe and Asia. Your cargo is consolidated with other shipments, moves along the sea route, and is deconsolidated at destination for final delivery.
Our LCL services include:
LCL is not just for small businesses — it is a practical solution for any company shipping less than a full container load. If you are looking for a reliable LCL service on your trade lane, our team is ready to help.
A company importing home goods from China needed a reliable solution for monthly shipments that did not justify a full container. TGL organised regular LCL shipments via Hamburg, optimising packing and documentation for each departure. The result: a predictable supply cycle at a competitive landed cost.
A small Ukrainian manufacturer wanted to send their first shipment to customers in Ireland but had no experience with sea freight. TGL guided the client through the entire process: packing and labelling, documentation, customs clearance, and LCL consolidation. The shipment went through without errors and arrived on schedule.
LCL (Less than Container Load) is a shipment that occupies less than a full container. Cargo is consolidated with other shipments into a shared container. FCL (Full Container Load) is a dedicated container from a single shipper. LCL is cost-effective for smaller volumes; FCL is preferable when your cargo fills the container or requires isolation.
LCL rates are typically calculated per CBM (cubic metre) or per tonne — whichever yields a higher charge. In addition to the base freight, costs include port fees, terminal handling, documentation, and customs charges. We provide a clear, transparent full-cost breakdown.
We arrange LCL shipments between Ukraine and major ports in Northern and Southern Europe (Hamburg, Antwerp, Gdansk, Rotterdam, Genoa) as well as Asia and the Middle East. Schedule frequency depends on the specific trade lane.
Total transit time includes ocean transit, consolidation and deconsolidation time, and the ground leg. LCL typically adds 3–7 days compared to FCL on the same route due to the consolidation process.
Most standard goods in cartons, on pallets, or in bags can be shipped LCL, provided they can be securely packed and labelled. Some categories — hazardous goods, cargo with strict storage requirements, or very oversized items — require separate review.
Customs clearance is typically quoted separately, as it depends on the specific goods, their customs value, and applicable classification. We provide full customs brokerage support as part of a complete door-to-door solution.
There is no formal minimum, but LCL becomes cost-effective from around 0.5–1 CBM. For very small shipments, courier or postal options may be more practical. We help determine the right format for your specific volume.
